WHAT TIME ARE WE LEAVING TOMORROW?

SYNOPSIS

Pavle (24) and Mara (24) are a young couple who want to escape from the monotonous environment at all costs. They both got visas but don’t have enough money to leave, so they plan a robbery of a small discount store, with the help of Stefan, a worker in it.

BIOGRAPHY

Matija Jovanović (born in 1999 in Podgorica) got a bachelor's degree in film directing at the Faculty of Drama of Arts in Cetinje, in the class of Professor Nikola Vukčević, Major - Film and Media. He is currently finishing the first year of Master's degree in Film Directing. So far, he has written seven screenplays for short feature films. Also, he is the author of several short stories. The story "The Bridge" was printed in the Podgorica Art Festival collection, while some other stories were printed in various other magazines. He participated in numerous film workshops and he was an assistant on many movie sets. As part of the Creative Documentary School workshop "ACTive", he made a short documentary film "Valdanos", which was later shown at "Doku Fest", in Prizren. He is also one of the organizers of the feature documentary festival "Underhill Fest" in Podgorica. In 2022, he wrote, directed and edited two short feature films: "Ležeći policajac" (Lying cop) and "U koliko krećemo sjutra?" (What time are we leaving tomorrow?). With his classmates, he directed and edited the project feature-length documentary film "Tihi dom" for the Royal Theater "Zetski Dom". Also, he was the screenwriter and the editor of the short documentary film "The Third Luck", which was created as a part of the artistic residency "Invisible Lives”. He also wrote a screenplay for the short feature film "Bunt" (Rebellion), which is one of the projects that passed the professional contest and it will be financed by the Film Center of Montenegro. His master's film "El Dorado", for which he was the screenwriter and the director, is currently in post-production phase.
